Partial list of benefactors: Mannie Fresh, Trick Daddy, Young Buck, Bun B, Akon, Shawty Redd, Mister Collipark, and Jazze Pha. Like Boyz N da Hood, the album was made as if crunk never happened. A definite product of the South, it's apparent throughout Let's Get It that his claim of being raised by the group UGK and the label No Limit is no joke. More a businessman than a traditional MC, his boasts are either deliberately pronounced or mush-mouthed and are often stamped with a druggy "Aaaayy!" Far from the South's best MC, he nonetheless makes up for it with his storytelling ability and obvious desire to inspire hard work, even if the "million dollar dreams" are followed by "federal nightmares." His mentality is almost permanently stuck on monetary gain, whether he's talking about moving "white" (his nickname is "Snowman") or doing whatever is necessary to keep up appearances. His prominence has come hard and fast (and not without a fair share of controversy) but in truth, he has been active in the underground since the mid-'90s. Boyz N da Hood hit the Top Five the week it was released, and Young Jeezy - the group's most visible member - wound up releasing Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101 only a month later. Gucci has never made any song that can fuck with Jeezy on the thug Motivation 101 tip, but Jeezy has started fallin off too, the trapin aint dead mixtape was pretty good but his features have been awful lately, on the Blueprint 3 Jeezy ruins the song hes on, might be one of the worst verses ive ever heard him spit, Youd think he would come. I find myself listening to more and more instrumentals, at first i thought i might look like a jack ass playing Instrumentals, but most people love that shit when i drive down the strips of Orlando or Ybor in Tampa or in Miami and Bump just the Instrumentals, I might put on the original tracks sometimes just to have some of Gucci's "Ho-hum" Rappin play but him rappin usually sounds like it's part of the beat because he sounds like he's just saying a hook over and over so i don 't mind it too much, it's just when he "REALLY" Tries to rap and the production is bad or low enough for you to pay attention is when it gets to me.A sequence of events juggled the release dates for Boyz N da Hood's first album (issued on Bad Boy) and Young Jeezy's own widely distributed breakout (issued on Def Jam). I sometimes wish they do like they use to do in the old days with Records, Put the Fuckin Instrumentals at the end of the Albums!. The beats at least with my System hits HARD AS FUCK! i love how some of the beats are never redundant and puts my system to hard work. Gucci is only played in my car by mistake most of the time never on purpose, i sometimes on a compilation mixtape come across a Gucci Song, and it definately keeps me based on the beat, i've always complimented the beats he raps over, in fact my last post on here just did that, I try to be a lil open minded when listening to music, but i eventually go back to those tunes and actually try and "Listen" to the artist, and i just listen and give this ugly ass look on my face like: "DA FUCK THIS NIGGA TALKIN ABOUT? I MEAN DAMN! WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST LET MYSELF LISTEN TO?". I dont even understand half of what Gucci says anyways, one of my fav Gucci songs is"Ive got a problem,a pill Poppin Problem" but I still cant find anyone that knows what he says on the hook after that part, something bout a Whopper and Waffle House or some shit I bump some Gucci every now & then, Chicken talk is a fire mixtape, but I would never defend his style or lyric content, but some days you wanna bump some Gucci, hes actually funny if your listening to what hes saying, prob a better comedian than rapper, it just depends on my mood, I like MF Doom some days but sometimes I wonder why I even have Doom on my Zune, one of my favorite singers is Glen Danzig, but he be talkin bout some crazy demonic shit but his voice is the shit to me, Im just sayin that sometimes you have to let music be music and not focus on anything but the rhythm and sound and not be expecting a story to be told, but if Gucci's voice annoys you then you cant get past that anyways and never will like him, Ive gave Bossie a chance on every cd hes dropped but I cant get past his voice that shit gets on my fuckin nerves so bad.
